Since its inception in 2001, Digicel group were operating out of two separate offices in Kingston Jamaica. Following steady growth , the global communications company decided to join both operations under the one roof in a new corporate headquarters. The target was to align the building with the company’s global commitment to green initiatives to create the “greenst office building in the Carribbean.” The new headquarters is a world class mixed use development and data centre located near the waterfront in downtown Kingston. The building was the first contribution to a major urban regeneration of the area.


After a competitive tender process Cableplan were selected as the preferred vendor and, in conjunction with the design team, liaised with all the major manufacturers in Europe to source products that met all client requirements. After the procurement process was complete Cableplan undertook all the logistics of transporting 44 containers from Italy to Jamaica and using a crew of direct employees successfully completed the project in less than six months.

Challenge

Supply and install 10,000m2 of white terrazzo stone agglomerate raised access floor, 200m2 of calcium sulphate core antistatic , and 1000m2 of mission critical data space to clients seismic proof specification in a challenging environment with high temperature high humidity conditions.
